tl;dr version: fake it.
I was reading the other day this article on EQ forwarded to me by a dear friend, and all of a sudden a lot of flashbacks were up. And was able to connect few dots on EQ, happiness and lifestyle choices. That was for a brief moment. It passes. Then you try to remember.
It was something like this;
Purpose = Be Happy
A lot of gurus, spiritual leaders and in fact religions themselves have been consistently monetizing on this issue for millennia. Yes, I call all this pseudo-scientific self help stuff, micro-religions (McRels). That’s the new big thing after micro finance. If I can find a way to create a platform that people can create their own religions, Nobel Prize, coming my way! OK that’s another post.
So, if you want to be happy, actually you should not seek the happiness as itself, but as a by-product, teach most of the these McRels. Help others and you will be happy, they say. It works most of the time. You need to be genuine. Here comes the dilemma from some other McRels. They say, just appear to be happy and you will start feeling happy. This Fake it Till You Make It thing is a very street smart thingy utilized for confidence issues, but actually has universal applications, and most of the time it works. You need to have high EQ.
Question is now, should I fake it or not?
and the answer is, please genuinely fake it.
Being a bit pretentious would never hurt, your friends will just gossip about it and they do it anyway. Develop a bit of EQ skills (below), and smile and help. That is your magical formula.
So these are McRel.00001 commandments, you make yours, send me those and I will give you a number:

These are your bullets, study and memorize, will ask questions:
Everynight, before going to bed, think of your day and identify day’s feelings.
Be attentive and curious about people around you.
Do not judge (unless your métier).
Do one thing really good.
Do not hurt.
10000 steps a day or equivalent.
Let go.
Appreciate.
No negativism.
Fake the missing stuff till you have it.
I was thinking about this list and specially number 10 for a long time, but when I saw this last week, I said, OK multiverse / angels / thetans / spirits sending me a message, I should add as number 10, and take away the bullet on sex.
Think of your 10 bullets and fake it.
